Day 3: My family is gone, my food is running extremely low. I need to find my way back to Kabinino, find shelter, survivors. I keep hearing my daughter's voices in my head. Sometimes, I can't help but follow them, blindly, into nothing. I feel myself falling into a dark pit of loneliness, and mourning. I need to find someone, someone to talk to, anyone to bring my humanity back, show me there is still hope to beat this thing. Hope for me.
(These notes start 3 weeks after the events at the cabin) She bit me, for one second I don't pay attention and she sank her teeth into my arm and I never saw her! I managed to get her off me throw her to the ground and make my way out of there. I wasn't sure what to do other than report myself to the military outpost I spotted a few days ago just outside of Polana to see if they could help me. I left all my stuff in my tent and made my way out of the woods. It took me a good 2 hours to get back to Polana and when I came walking down the road with my hands up a British soldier walked up to me and ordered me to stop. I told him I had been bitten and needed help but before he could even reply i felt a stinging feeling in my neck and the world went black. I could hear them talk a bit before I lost complete consciousness and I heard them say something about a Quarantine camp. I woke up in the middle of a dark vicinity and had the intense feeling of being watched, I could hear my heart beating in my chest and i couldn't move. The extreme resistance of my own body made me pass out again only for me to wake up a few hours later. I had no sense of time and had no idea where i was. When i passed out again and woke up again a woman stood above me smiling at me.."Hello Sir, welcome back to the real world" she said before plunging another needle inside me. She whispered to me that this would keep me alive and i had nothing to worry about. I managed to lift my head slightly to have a look at my arm. The wound was fully healed and scarred up with teeth marks so i figured i had been here for a long time. I asked the woman where i was and why i was still here and if i could ever go on my way.. She replied to me "Oh no Sir, there is no way out.. you need us as much as we need you" Then she walked out of the tent and seemed to speaking into a little device.."Test subject 340 is still alive and seems to be very responsive, it is time for us to place him in cell block 1" I started counting the minutes, the seconds, the hours as i had nothing else to do, I was restrained in a yellow tent and had no idea what these people wanted with me. About two days later she walked in again but no accompanied by 4 heavily armed soldiers. She undid the restraints and slowly but surely helped me up. Two soldiers stepped up beside me and supported me as they took me out of the tent.. The bright light blinded me at first but once my eyes adjusted i took in my surroundings. Burning buildings in the background, soldiers running around and worst of all.. trenches, trenches full of dead bodies. I looked at the woman and mumbled..."What is this?" She didn't reply at first but just smiled and nodded at one of the soldiers who then proceeded hitting me on the back of the head with the back of his rifle after which i blacked out. When i opened my eyes again i was in a cell with a slight shimmer of light coming through the window. Outside i heard screaming, lots and lots of screaming and gunfire.. what the fuck was going, where did they put me this time?! I heard someone running down the hallway and then the foot steps stopped in front of my cell.. I heard the latch and then someone running away again which was followed by a "Stop!" and 2 clear shots. I didn't even wanna try to see if the door was open and i remained in my bed for hours or days listening to the screams and helicopters flying over. The gunfire had finally stopped and slowly but surely so did the screams.. I waited a little bit longer before I decided to try the door and to my surprise it was open. I didn't even think about who had been so kind to open it but i started walking down the hallway and down the stairs stepping over body after body. Once i got outside the scenes were very disturbing there was literally no one left standing until i got to the kitchen building where i was gonna look for food. I found a lone soldier and I remembered him as one of the 4 who took me from the tent. He seemed horribly injured and begged me to end him but i just stood there, cold, lifeless and not caring one bit for his situation. I looked around the kitchen and grabbed what ever food i could before i walked back to the soldier. I took his backpack and assault rifle and again he begged me to end him but... I smiled and walked away and made my way out of the camp. I realize now this is a doomed land and i gotta do what ever to survive but first i have to find out if Henry is still alive.
